People’s Choice Awards
The fourth annual Sunshine Coast People’s Choice Awards(SCPCAs) are proudly presented by the Sunshine Coast Chamber of Commerce and the Coast Reporter.
The 2024 People’s Choice Awards will put the spotlight on the variety of amazing local businesses we have here on the coast, celebrate and promote positive stories of community building and economic brilliance, and create a fun and inclusive online event aimed at bringing our community together.
On behalf of the Sunshine Coast Chamber of Commerce, I congratulate the winners, finalists and nominated businesses of the 4th Annual Sunshine Coast People’s Choice Awards.
Let’s extend a huge thank-you to the Sunshine Coast community for the incredible support that was shown this year. The response from business owners and residents has once again exceeded our expectations. Working together, our votes celebrated the local business community. All business owners and their teams play a vital role in making the Sunshine Coast such a special place.
The 2024 People’s Choice Awards succeeded in putting the spotlight on the eclectic diversity of local businesses. It helped celebrate and promote positive stories of community building and economic brilliance. Most importantly, it was a fun and inclusive online event, bringing our community together.
And now, the people have spoken! On the following pages, you will find this year’s local community favourites, and what a list it is! I also acknowledge the ongoing contributions of our amazing local businesses. Local shops and service providers, small or large, add something unique, different, and one-of-a kind to our lives. By shopping on the Coast, we create the exciting, livable community we are proud to call home. Every consumer purchase you make here supports that business and many other local employers, as the money gets circulated and multiplied in our community.

Nomination & Voting Process
Nominations were open for a 2-week period which ran from May 2– May 16, 2024. During this time the local community was invited to either nominate their own business or all their favourite local businesses in 131 predetermined categories. Voting for the successful “Sunshine Coast People’s Choice Awards 2024” nominees will be done by completing the online voting forms on the Coast Reporter’s Website. The voting process will go as follows:
- Voting on each ballot will be done in four separate 2-week periods, the first round of voting will begin on Friday, July 5, 2024 at 10:00 am.
- All ballots will show when voters go in to vote on the Coast Reporter Website; however, only one ballot will be open during each voting period. Once a voting period is over, that ballot will be closed (this is to make it fair for all businesses– we don’t want some businesses to have a larger window to receive votes in their subcategory than others).
- Voting for Ballot 1 ‘RETAIL’ opens on Friday, July 5, 2024 at 10:00 am and closes on Thursday, July 18, 2024 at 11:59 pm
- Voting for Ballot 2 ‘HEALTH, WELLNESS & LIFESTYLE’ opens on Friday, July 19, 2024 at 10:00 am and closes on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at 11:59 pm
- Voting for Ballot 3 ‘SERVICES’ opens on Friday, August 2, 2024 at 10:00 am and closes on Thursday, August 15, 2024 at 11:59 pm
- Voting for Ballot 4 ‘FOOD & DRINK’ opens on Friday, August 16, 2024 at 10:00 am and closes on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at 11:59 pm
The top three businesses that received the most votes in each of the categories will become the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners of the 2024 Sunshine Coast People’s Choice Awards. These businesses will be notified that they have been chosen as a finalist by September 26, 2024.
The 1st place winners and the 2nd and 3rd place runners-up of 2024 Sunshine Coast People’s Choice awards will be announced on October 18, 2024 in a special feature from the Coast Reporter and published here, and on SCBRC’s “Coast Your Vote” webpage.

The Sunshine Coast People’s Choice Awards have succeeded in capturing the attention of Sunshine Coast residents and business owners alike.
In 2023, over 5500 participants voted for over 750 local businesses across 129 different categories, and 1st place winners received their awards at a sold out gala event at the Gibsons Public Market. The positive response for this campaign has exceeded our expectations, and we are proud to have come together to create a new way to celebrate the unique, vibrant and resilient local business community that plays a vital role in making the Sunshine Coast such a special place.
This year we will have a two week community-driven nomination period during the month of May, an 8-week summer voting period accompanied by an exciting ‘Coast your Vote’ marketing campaign, and winners will be presented their locally made awards at gala event to be held in late October.
